Independent practitioner is looking for a Florida-licensed optometrist to join his practice as an associate or for a full buy-out. Owner is a graduate of the University of Houston Class of 1972 who served a four-year tour in the Air Force before returning to Florida to establish the practice in Sumter County. After 40+ years of private practice, the owner would like to continue serving the community, but in a lesser capacity.

The office is located on the western border of The Villages, the largest retirement community in Florida. At the present time, the population in The Villages is near 100,000 residents. Large parcels of land near the office were purchased to nearly double the residential community. The practice currently sits on over an acre of land in the center of the proposed road systems which will loop around the property, resulting in outstanding visibility. With the expectation of patient growth from these newly-developed areas, the practice is ideally poised for physical expansion onto the remaining 3/4 acre of land.

The owner practices three days within the private practice a week and spends two days a week as a contractor at the largest Federal Prison in the United States. The prison work has been a rewarding part of the practice with 23 years at Coleman Correctional and 20 years with the Department of Corrections in Florida and has been a source of continuous revenue, not dependent open the general community.

Dr.  Tully  Patrowicz (Dr. Tully as he prefers to be called),  has provided general ophthalmic care in the practice one day a week over the past  11 years. Shalesh Kaushal, M.D., PhD. also joined the practice as a retinal surgeon and expert in the importance of nutrition in ocular and systemic disease. Dr. Kaushal was the director of the retinal program at the University of Florida School of Medicine for many years but has now entered private practice. At this time, Dr. Kaushal comes to the practice once a month, with intentions of making our practice his retinal specialty referral center. Our optical is operated by Lisa Hamm who is a licensed optician.  The practice is proud to have all three "O"s (Ophthalmology, Optometry and Opticianry) well-represented under one roof.
